School holiday flying training
During the NSW and VIC school holidays, Smartair is conducting our very popular Going Flying Course. We teach the basics of flying to teenagers over a five-day period.
Participants each receive 5 hours of flying, 5 hours of briefings and learn about many aspects of aviation, which means they are equipped for the pre-solo flying exam, known as the General Flying Progress Test (GFPT).
The course runs from 0800-1730 each day and is $1200 per student, for the 5 days.

Trial Instructional Flight
Our Trial Instructional Flights (TIF) give you a feel for what it’s really like to fly an airplane. The TIF is a valuable teaching process and it means there are fewer surprises for new trainee pilots when they start the ‘real thing’.
The TIF is no joy flight. It’s a 30-minute, hands-on lesson where you actually get to fly our Tomahawk training aircraft. You’ll be one-on-one with an instructor who’ll give you a pre-flight briefing about aircraft systems and flying in general.
This initial investment in flying training is just $150.
