Start young and keep going
While there’s no minimum age for flying training, you must be at least 16 before flying solo, 17 before you can hold a Private Pilots Licence and 18 years old for the Commercial Pilots Licence.
There is no maximum age restriction for the Private Licence. While there are no formal educational requirements necessary to begin flying training, some maths or science training will be helpful.

A smart career choice
Just about every airline in the world is feeling the effects of an increasing pilot shortage and there’s never been a better time to consider a career in aviation.
You can graduate from our VET approved, commercial pilot training course, with a Certificate IV in Transport and Distribution (aviation flight operations) after 150 hours’ training. A further few months’ training (depending on personal circumstances) and you can graduate with a Diploma in Aviation, and a Multi Engine Command Instrument Rating, ready to move along this rewarding career path.
